  • What is a Donor ID?
    A donor ID number is assigned to TeachBeyond members when their profile is added to TeachBeyond’s donor database. You can email Donor Services to ask for a donor ID. You can find it on the printed gift acknowledgment or at the top of the emailed acknowledgement.

  • Is my donation tax-deductible?
    Yes, TeachBeyond is approved to issue tax-deductible receipts in both Canada and the USA.

  • How will I receive my income tax receipt?
    Donors who give with a check receive a paper receipt/acknowledgment each month with a return envelope for their next gift. Donors who give through bill pay (USA), PayPal, or an EFT receive receipts by email if they have provided a valid email address. If you are not receiving your emailed or mailed receipt, please email us at donate@teachbeyond.org or call 800.381.0076 Ext. 1.
  • Does TeachBeyond assess an administrative allocation on donated funds?
    Yes, TeachBeyond’s administrative allocation is 12% on all funds given for individual and organizational projects. Some pre-approved exceptions apply (e.g., gifts for student mission trips).

  • How do I indicate which missionary or project I want to support on a check or online?
    » Check:
    Do not put the name of your missionary on your check. Indicate your designation by enclosing a note, a TeachBeyond pledge form, or the tear-off portion of your paper receipt.
    » Online:
    Each online form provides a field where you can enter missionary names and/or project numbers.

  • What are your accountability standards and measures?
    » USA:
    TeachBeyond is ECFA accredited in the USA. This means TeachBeyond meets or exceeds the Seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship. These include: Doctrinal Issues; Governance; Financial Oversight; Use of Resources and Compliance with Laws; Transparency; Compensation-Setting and Related-Party Transactions; and Stewardship of Charitable Gifts.
    » Canada:
    TeachBeyond is an affiliate member of Canadian Council of Christian Charities (CCCC) in Canada and makes every effort to adhere to their standards.
    Donation and financial activity are audited annually by CapinCrouse in the USA and by PricewaterhouseCoopers in Canada.

  • Can I support the work of TeachBeyond without giving to a missionary or project?
    Yes. The administrative allocation from missionary support covers only a portion of our operating expenses and our efforts on new global initiatives. To enable TeachBeyond to meet operational costs and continue to expand the global ministry, please give using any of the online options or sending a check made out to TeachBeyond. To make sure your donation is used most effectively, please designate your donation to “Strategic Priorities.”

  • Can I add a gift for TeachBeyond to my monthly missionary giving?
    Yes. The administrative allocation from missionary support covers only a portion of our operating expenses and our efforts on new global initiatives. To enable TeachBeyond to meet operational costs and continue to expand the global ministry, please designate your extra monthly gift to TeachBeyond “Strategic Priorities.”

  • I am not a North American but want to support a TeachBeyond North American missionary. How do I do that?

  • How do I give a personal gift to my missionary?
    Do not send personal gifts for your missionary to TeachBeyond. Please contact your missionaries directly and ask them how you can best get your gift to them.

  • When will my EFT be withdrawn from my account?
    You can choose to have your EFT donation withdrawn from your financial institution on one of the following days of the month:
    » USA:

    • 5th
    • 20th

    All corporate EFTs (including churches) are processed on the 5th.
    » Canada:

    • 1st
    • 15th

    Note:
    All EFTs are processed at least 3 business days prior to the transfer day. Any changes made to the gift must be requested before then. Once the gifts are processed we are unable to make any changes. This includes canceling the request.

  • How are missionaries paid?
    Most TeachBeyond missionaries raise their own prayer and financial support. Several TeachBeyond positions receive a stipend which covers some in-country expenses. Upon acceptance missionaries candidates receive a support schedule which reflects their personal, family and ministry needs and the cost of living in the area of the world where they serve. TeachBeyond missionaries receive a set salary, provided the funds are available. All gifts given for missionary support are held in TeachBeyond’s accounting system under the designated project number. These funds remain available for the missionary for salary and ministry expenses.
